What should you ask it? Real-life examples
A course from the Academy: AI made easy: your first steps
Go to the quiz ↓"But what on earth could I ask it?" That's the question everyone asks at the start. Here are some tried-and-tested examples, ready to copy and paste as they are.
In the kitchen
"I've got courgettes, eggs and cheese in my fridge. What can I cook that's simple tonight?" The AI suggests a recipe with step-by-step instructions. You can reply "simpler" or "no oven", and it adapts.
For paperwork and letters
"Help me write a polite letter to my town hall to report a broken streetlamp on my road." You get a ready-made letter, which just needs copying out or printing. This works for insurance, the bank, the residents' association…
For understanding complicated things
"Explain simply what this word my doctor used means: hypertension." Or: "What does this sentence in my contract mean?" A clear answer, no jargon, and you can ask for it even simpler.
For fun
- "Give me three gift ideas for a 10-year-old who loves animals."
- "Tell me an anecdote about the history of my town."
- "Help me find a 7-letter word for my crossword, meaning…"
Key takeaways
- There's no "right" or "wrong" question: ask in your own words.
- Recipes, letters, tricky words, gift ideas: it can do it all.
- If the answer isn't right, say so: "simpler", "shorter".
