Who publishes Alyriaz
Alyriaz is an independent media outlet covering artificial intelligence: news, explainers, an Academy and a glossary, in French and English. Articles are signed “Alyriaz”, the name of the newsroom.

Hosting
- Website: Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States · netlify.com

Intellectual property
All content on the site (texts, articles, Academy courses, glossary, visuals, logo, the names “Alyriaz” and “Mnemosyne”) is protected by intellectual property law. Some visuals and background videos are generated with artificial intelligence tools. Any substantial reproduction or reuse without prior permission is prohibited, except for short quotations that name the source and link to the original article.
Privacy policy
Alyriaz is designed to collect the minimum amount of data. No advertising, no third-party trackers, no resale of data. Here, in full transparency, is what is processed and why.
1. What is collected (and what is not)
- Browsing without an account: no personal data. A simple anonymous visit counter records the page viewed and the date, with no IP address kept, no tracking cookie and no profiling.
- Account (optional): sign-in goes through Google. Your display name, email address and avatar are then stored, along with the activity linked to the account: articles liked and read, comments posted, Academy progress (lessons passed, quiz scores, badges). This data is stored with Supabase, in the European Union.
- Mnemosyne (AI assistant): see the dedicated section below.
- Lyriaz email alert: if you leave your email on the Lyriaz page, it is used only to tell you about the launch.
- Weekly letter (optional): if you subscribe, your email is used only to send the weekly round-up of articles. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribelink, which deletes your address immediately.
- Notifications (if you turn them on): a technical notification-subscription identifier is stored. It contains no personal data and you can delete it at any time by turning notifications off in your browser.
2. Mnemosyne and artificial intelligence
When you ask Mnemosyne a question (or use “Summarise” and “Explain” on an article), your question and the latest exchanges of your session are sent to the API of the AI provider DeepSeek, whose servers are located outside the European Union (China), in order to generate the answer.
No conversation is stored on our servers: the session history exists only in your browser and disappears when the tab is closed. An anti-abuse mechanism temporarily limits the number of requests per IP address, with no lasting retention.
3. Cookies and local storage
The site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Your browser’s local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) is used only to make the site work: keeping you signed in, display and language preferences, Mnemosyne’s session memory. This information stays in your browser.
4. Processors
- Supabase (database, authentication): European Union.
- Netlify (site hosting): United States, covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- Google (“Sign in with Google” service).
- DeepSeek (generating the assistant’s answers): only the questions asked, never your account data.
5. Retention periods
Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. The anonymous visit counter is aggregated by day. Notification subscriptions are kept until they are turned off.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port your data.
Deleting your account yourself: go to your account, “My profile” tab, “Delete my account” section. Deletion is immediate and permanent: profile, liked articles, comments, reads, Academy progress, notifications and weekly-letter subscription are erased, with no copy kept.
For your other rights, or if you would rather we handle it, write to hello@alyriaz.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Terms of use
1. Purpose and access
Alyriaz is a site that explains artificial intelligence: articles, Academy courses, glossary and AI assistant. Access is entirely free. Using the site means accepting these terms.
2. User account
Creating an account (through Google) is optional. It lets you save your progress, like and comment on articles, and talk to Mnemosyne. You are responsible for keeping your access confidential. An account may be suspended in case of abuse (spam, unlawful content, attempts to get around protections).
3. Comments and published content
Comments must remain respectful and lawful. Prohibited in particular: hateful or defamatory remarks, harassment, spam, illegal content or content that infringes the rights of others. The publisher may moderate, remove content or suspend an account without notice in case of breach.
4. AI-generated content
Mnemosyne’s answers, the summaries and some content on the site are generated by artificial intelligence. Despite all the care taken, they may contain errors or approximations and are provided for information only. They never constitute professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise). Check any important information with a qualified source before acting.
5. Academy, quizzes and certificates
The Academy’s courses, quizzes, badges and certificates are offered for learning and for fun. Thecertificate of completion issued at the end of a course only certifies that the course’s lessons were followed and its quizzes passed on alyriaz.com. It is neither a diploma, nor a qualification, nor a professional certification recognised by the State or by an accreditation body, and confers no rights.
6. Availability and liability
The publisher strives to keep the site available at all times, with no guarantee of availability or of the absence of errors. The site may change or be interrupted at any time. External links are provided for information: the publisher is not responsible for their content.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. For any question: hello@alyriaz.com.
