AI creation: the big picture
A course from the Academy: Creating with AI: images, videos and ideas
Go to the quiz ↓Three years ago, creating an illustration required an illustrator, a video required a studio, a voice-over required an actor. Today, a single person with a browser can produce all three in an evening. This course teaches you how to do it well.
The five families of tools
- Text: you already know it (articles, scripts, dialogues, slogans).
- Image: you describe, the tool draws. Illustrations, logos, posters, photos that don't exist.
- Video: from a starting text or image, the tool animates a few seconds of film.
- Voice and music: natural voice-overs in any language, full tracks from a description.
- Assisted editing: automatic subtitles, cutting, silence removal, reframing.
The right mindset
AI doesn't replace the idea: it executes on your behalf what you wouldn't have known how to execute. The difference between a bland result and a striking one is always the person guiding it: their vision, their taste, their choices. Two people with the same tool get results that have nothing in common.
Another reality to know: the first generation is rarely the right one. The creators who impress you generate ten, twenty, fifty versions and keep only the best. Iterating is part of the job.
Key takeaways
- Five families: text, image, video, voice/music, assisted editing.
- AI executes, but the idea, taste and choices remain yours.
- Iterating is normal: pros generate a lot and keep little.
