When the answer is not suitable: ask again

A course from the Academy: Your very first attempt, step by step

The first answer is rarely the right one, and that's normal. This isn't a search engine: it's a conversation. You adjust.

The reflex that changes everything

Don't start from scratch. Reply in the same conversation, as you would out loud:

  • "That's too long, give me three sentences."
  • "I didn't get the third point, explain it differently."
  • "That's too casual, redo it in a more professional tone."
  • "You forgot I don't have an oven."

It keeps in memory what was said just before. So you don't have to explain everything again.

The three most useful instructions

"Shorter." That's the most common flaw: responses are too long.

"As if I knew nothing about it." It lowers the vocabulary level a notch.

"Give me an example." One concrete example is worth three paragraphs of explanation.

What to do now

Take the response from the previous lesson and ask it for the same thing, but shorter. Compare the two. It's this simple back-and-forth that separates someone who endures responses from someone who puts them to use.
