Writing your very first question

A course from the Academy: Your very first attempt, step by step

Go to the quiz ↓

You write to an AI the way you'd write to someone competent but who doesn't know you. In normal French. No magic formula, no keywords.

A real sentence beats three words

"Recipe" will give you anything. "Give me a recipe for courgette gratin for four people, with what I already have: eggs, cheese and cream" will give you something usable.

The difference isn't vocabulary, it's precision. You say what you want, for whom, and with what.

Three questions to get started

  • "Explain what an invoice on account is, as if I knew nothing about it."
  • "Help me write a message to cancel a dentist appointment, politely."
  • "What are the five things to see in Strasbourg in two days, without too much walking?"

It answers, so what?

Read the answer calmly. It doesn't judge you, it doesn't take offence, and you're not bothering it. That's perhaps the hardest point to grasp when you're starting out: you can ask a question you think is stupid. No one will know.

What to do now

Ask one of the three questions above, or your own. Just one. Read the answer. Done: you've used an AI.
