Your week organised in twenty minutes
A course from the Academy: Getting organised with AI: notes, meetings, email
Go to the quiz ↓Here's the routine that brings the whole course together. Twenty minutes, once a week, on Friday afternoon or Monday morning, to know exactly what to do and when.
The four steps of the review
- Empty (5 min): gather everything lying around in your notes tool, your flagged emails and your meeting minutes.
- Take stock (5 min): ask the AI to list what got done, what slipped and the new actions. "Here are my notes from this week: list the ongoing actions with their deadlines, and flag what's overdue."
- Choose (5 min): three priorities for the week, not ten. You choose; the AI can help you spot what's blocking the rest.
- Schedule (5 min): put those priorities in your calendar as real appointments with yourself. A task without a slot is just an intention.
What AI does well, and less well
- It gathers, summarises and orders a jumble of notes very quickly.
- It doesn't know your energy, your surprises or what really matters to you: priorities remain your decision.
- It sometimes gets dates wrong: check deadlines before scheduling them.
Analogy. Filling up and checking the tyres before a long drive. Twenty minutes stopped, and the whole trip goes better.
Keeping it up
Put the review itself in your calendar, at the same time every week. After a month it's a habit; after three, you won't remember how you managed before.
Key takeaways
- Empty, take stock, choose, schedule: twenty minutes a week.
- Three priorities, not ten.
- Every priority gets a slot in the calendar.
- AI gathers and orders; you decide.
