Orchestration layer
The software layer placed between the user and the AI models: it receives the request, selects the most suitable model to respond, and assembles the result. A major strategic issue: whoever controls this layer controls the relationship with the user, not necessarily whoever builds the models.
In other words
A hotel concierge: you ask for something, and they call the right provider, without you needing to know anyone.

- Scaling laws: why "bigger" worked, and why it's slowing down
Scaling laws describe a predictable relationship between size, data, compute and performance. We explain what they actually say and why the industry is now looking for other levers.
- Should we teach our children about AI, or protect them from it?
Should children be exposed to AI early to prepare them, or shielded from it to protect their learning? We weigh the available data and draw out a principle that partly reconciles the two camps: sequencing matters more than prohibition.
- Meta lays off 8,000 people and rehires for AI: the brutal face of the great workplace replacement
Meta has begun laying off around 8,000 employees, 10% of its workforce, citing efficiency gains enabled by AI, while reassigning 7,000 people to its AI teams. We analyse this move, what it reveals about the transformation of work, and why the narrative of replacement is more complex than it seems.
- Why AIs hallucinate (and why they probably never will stop)
OpenAI announces a 65% reduction in hallucinations on GPT-5. Anthropic touts Claude's factual accuracy. And yet, all regular users keep seeing their AI make things up. Why? Because hallucinations are not a minor flaw. They are at the very core of how the technology works. An accessible, no-holds-barred explanation.
