A new homepage, topics to find everything, finally reasonable alerts, a podcast, a Model Radar, a rebuilt app and new courses: the full tour, all in one place.

In a matter of weeks, Alyriaz has changed a great deal. Some of the new features are visible from the homepage, others are hidden one click away. Here is everything, in one place, so you don't miss a thing.

A homepage where everything is one click away

From the moment you arrive, the first screen gives you access to the essentials: the lead article, the latest posts, the episode of the week to listen to on the spot, the quiz, the Model Radar, the Academy and the AI timeline. Each section now has its own logo, so you can find your way at a glance.

And to start reading straight away, simply scroll down the page: you land directly in the articles.

Finding the right article, by topic

Six broad sections were no longer enough: "Society" or "Vision" covered anything and everything. The library is now sorted by precise topic, arranged into three families:

  • the players: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Mistral AI, xAI, and Chinese AI (DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi…);
  • the themes: AI agents, code, images and video, health, education, employment, law and regulation, cybersecurity, privacy, energy, geopolitics, the price of AI, and many more;
  • the formats: tutorials and the week's round-ups.

You can combine several topics, filter by period or by reading time, and search for a word across all articles: results appear instantly. Every sort has its own link, to keep or to share. On each article, its topics also lead to all the other articles on the same topic.

Alerts that no longer overwhelm you

Until now, turning on notifications meant getting one for every article, so several a day. It was too much. You now choose your own pace:

  • The day's essentials: a single notification, in the evening, summarising the day's articles;
  • My topics: a notification only when an article comes out on a topic you follow, three a day at most.

A "Follow this topic" button appears in the library as soon as a topic is selected. Alerts can be adjusted, or turned off, at any time from the News page.

On Sundays, the whole week in AI in five minutes

Sunday evening has become a real fixture:

  • the week's round-up, telling in a single article what was worth remembering;
  • Alyriaz Signal, its audio version: a podcast of a few minutes, in French and in English, on the site and on Spotify;
  • the week's quiz: five questions to check that everything is clear;
  • the newsletter, to receive all of this straight in your inbox, for free.

And the podcast now has its own proper page, designed like an app: tap one of the episode's topics to jump straight to it, switch to the English version in one gesture, and find every episode in a row.

And since 7 October, Alyriaz also has its own YouTube channels, for AI explained in video: Alyriaz FR and Alyriaz EN.

The Model Radar

Which AI model should you choose, what for, and at what price? The Model Radar compares American, Chinese and European models: their strengths, their prices, and which ones you can install yourself. Rather than an abstract calculator, it shows what a real task costs with each of them: summarising a twenty-page report, writing an article, a customer service conversation, sorting a thousand emails, an hour of a coding agent. You can also compare two or three models side by side. New models are added every week.

The AI timeline, and our favourite tools

The AI timeline goes back in time, from Turing to today: the big moments that explain the AI we use, each told in a few lines. And Our AI tools gathers the editorial team's selection, with a tip for using each one and the Academy course that goes with it.

The Academy opens up to everyday life

The Academy remains free and now has thirty-one courses. The newest ones cover very concrete uses:

And the Academy picks up where you left off: a "Resume" card takes you back to your lesson, every course shows how far you have got, and your certificate appears as soon as a course is finished.

On the vocabulary side, the glossary has passed one hundred and sixty terms, with revision cards to memorise them, and the homepage offers a new word every day.

More comfortable reading

Since the end of September, every new article has its own layout, with its own colours and fonts, chosen for its subject. Below the title, three "A" buttons set the text size, and your choice is remembered. On a computer, highlight a sentence: you can copy or share it, and the link opens the article right on it. And if you come back often, the homepage offers to pick up your reading and the articles from your favourite sections.

Your space, rebuilt

The "My account" space has been completely redesigned. You will find your figures there (articles read, lessons completed, days in a row), a "Resume" rail to get back to your reading, your course or your last conversation with Mnémosyne, your certifications, your alerts and the newsletter, all in one place.

The app, on a par with the site

The Android app moves to version 0.12, and it catches up with the site. A new Explore tab, in the bottom bar, brings together everything Alyriaz offers: the podcast, the Sunday round-up, the quiz, the Model Radar, the Academy, the timeline, our AI tools, the glossary and the collections. Everything opens directly in the app, without going through a web page.

  • the full Model Radar, with the cost of a task and the side-by-side comparison;
  • the podcast, with the episode's topics to tap, the English version in one gesture and every episode;
  • reading: text size, table of contents, picking up where you left off, glossary words explained with a tap, quotes to share with a long press, and comments;
  • "My account" and the Academy, as on the site: your figures, "Resume", your certifications and the exam for each level;
  • alerts: the evening essentials, or only the topics you follow.

The feed is sorted by topic, like the site's library, and search sits at the top, one tap on the magnifying glass away. If the app is already on your phone, the update is offered to you when you open the feed.
