Who is this little tutorial for?
If you code, whether purely for pleasure, as part of your studies, or for your day-to-day professional work, it is high time to move on from tools that have grown outdated, such as the traditional VS Code (which was originally nothing more than an advanced text editor), in favour of a true environment (IDE) built around generation by autonomous "AI Agents".
A one-click install (literally)
Google's philosophy is clear: flood the market and completely remove the technical complexity barrier at installation. It is designed so that anyone can get it running in a minute:
- Go to the official (and free) site: https://antigravity.google.com
- The web page will automatically detect your computer's system. Click the big blue button in the centre: "Download Antigravity for [Your System]".
- Once the file is downloaded, open it. It installs just as quickly as the Google Chrome browser: simply click "Next, Next, Finish". No skill is required on your part.
First launch: the visual shock
When you launch Antigravity for the first time, forget the empty, austere screens. The software will present you with a home screen worthy of science fiction for the new generation of coders, and will ask you to sign in with your Google account (personal or work).
Simply by signing in with your free Google account, the platform grants you totally free access to the Gemini 3.1 Pro artificial intelligence (Google's large, ultra-powerful model) built in internally to drive the coder-bots on your behalf!
Better still: on this very first launch, the software will ask you the famous question: "Do you want to import all your settings, your habitual keyboard shortcuts and your colour themes from your old tool (such as VS Code or JetBrains)?". Say Yes, and your entire former working environment will be magically cloned into the new futuristic visual interface!
Only one last action remains: go to the bottom right of the main screen, click the interactive "New Agent" button, and ask it in French to "Create the architecture for an empty e-commerce site from scratch". All you have to do is watch the machine write the folders for you.
